Planning where to birth is for some a very obvious choice, but for many it takes hours of searching, questioning and pondering.
The three care models available are:
- Private
- Public hospital
- Home birth.
I believe choosing the right setting and birth team that fits with your birth wishes is integral to how you labour, recover and reflect.
In clinic I have an opportunity to discuss birth choices with my pregnant patients if I see them in the first trimester. Being informed and making decisions early allows you to feel confident in your choice and get on with staying well and preparing your body and mind for birth and beyond.
For those of you thinking about a private obstetrition, here is an insight into a local practice consulting out of The Bays private hospital in Mornington.
MPO, Mornington Peninsula Obstetrics.
Kelly Griffin and Sarah Roberts are both obstetritions and gynaecologists heading an all women’s practice. Both are working mums with small children and are pro-active supporting women to have vaginal births. They have good rapport with their patients and listen to their birth wishes whilst giving expert medical advice and service. I have shared many patients with this practice and have found the feedback postive.
Here is the MPO website for more information: www.mpobstetrcis.com.au
Kerry Marshall is available for acupuncture at Mornington Chinese Medicine on Tuesday and Fridays.
