This year Mental Health Week will occur from Sunday 8th to Saturday 14th October 2017.
World Mental Health Day is also marked every year on the same day, being the 10th of October.
Mental Health Week has hundreds of events, organised by a multitude of individuals, community groups and service providers throughout the state. The aim of the week is to activate, educate and engage Victorians about mental health, through a week of interactive events across the state and most of the effort of running Mental Health Week comes from dedicated volunteers committed to promoting mental well being, furthering knowledge about mental health and eliminating the stigma surrounding mental illness.
Caring for an individual’s mental health has always held an important impetus in Chinese Medicine, as an individual is always looked upon and diagnosed as a whole, not parts of a whole. Mind and body are not looked at as separate entities.
Supporting strong mental health as well as strong physical health are the cornerstones of Chinese Medicine philosophy and diagnostics.
If you are curious on how Chinese Medicine may be able to support you please contact the clinic. There is also a great government resource at http://www.mentalhealthvic.org.au/ for more information on mental health and mental health week.
Scott is available for consultation on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
