Acupuncture and Mental Health

Achieving emotional balance can be both the primary focus of acupuncture treatment and is also a positive “side effect” when you use acupuncture for other reasons. Used both as a monotherapy and complementary therapy the Acupuncturists at MCM are able to treat conditions such as post-natal depression, depression, anxiety, frustration, emotional imbalances and worry. Acupuncture points have a physical and emotional aspect to their function and most times both of those aspects are accessed during the acupuncture treatment. Depending on which points on the body the needles are placed, acupuncture can cause the nervous system to produce painkilling chemicals, jump-start the body’s natural ability to heal itself, or stimulate the part of the brain that controls emotions, including depression and anxiety.

It’s important to remember that suffering from these things is not unusual. Here at Mornington Chinese Medicine we are committed to opening up the dialogue on mental health and providing the highest quality healthcare and support to our clients in helping to resolve health issues, and increase their wellness and enjoyment of life 🙂

If you or anyone you know suffers from any of these conditions please call us at the MCM clinic on 59736886 or via https://morningtonchinesemedicine.com.au/contact-us/
