PREGNANCY SUPPORT · MORNINGTON PENINSULA

Held through every week of it, not just the milestones.

For over two decades, Mornington Chinese Medicine has supported women through pregnancy on the Peninsula. The early nausea and bone-tired weeks, the aches that arrive later, preparing for labour, and the months after your baby comes home.

We understand that pregnancy is a unique and transformative journey, bringing joy and anticipation, as well as potential challenges and anxieties. Whether you’re experiencing the excitement of your first pregnancy or have faced hurdles such as miscarriage or a lengthy fertility journey, our compassionate practitioners are here to support you with the healing benefits of acupuncture.

Each trimester brings its own challenges. From nausea and fatigue in the first trimester, to pain and sleep issues in the second, and birth prep in the third, our acupuncture treatments are tailored to your stage. We use evidence-informed protocols to help with hormonal support, breech positioning, birth readiness, and emotional wellbeing.

WHAT WE CAN SUPPORT YOU WITH

Pregnancy is not one experience, it's forty weeks of different ones

What you need at eight weeks is nothing like what you need at thirty-eight. Each stage is its own kind of support, not a smaller version of the same thing.

And if you got here after a miscarriage, or a long stretch of trying, the excitement can come with a knot of worry underneath it. That's normal, and it's welcome in the room.

We support women who are experiencing:

  • Morning sickness, nausea and exhaustion
  • Pelvic, hip and low back pain, and sciatica
  • Heartburn, reflux and sluggish digestion
  • Headaches, broken sleep, restless legs and swelling
  • Anxiety, low mood and feeling unlike yourself
  • Breech or posterior positioning, birth preparation, and going overdue
  • Recovery, feeding and depletion after birth

ACUPUNCTURE

Gentle, pregnancy-safe treatment, adjusted as you change

CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE

Prescribed only where it's appropriate in pregnancy

DIET & LIFESTYLE

WORKING WITH YOUR TEAM

Alongside your midwife, GP and obstetrician

STAGE BY STAGE

Wherever you are, that's the right time to start

There's no window you've missed. Come in at eight weeks or at thirty-eight, we'll pick you up where you are.

WEEKS 1 TO 13

The tired, queasy,
quietly anxious start

Support for nausea, exhaustion and the nerves of the first trimester, when you might not have told anyone yet.

WEEKS 14 TO 33

When your body starts asking for more

Pelvic and back pain, reflux, swelling, sleep and the mid-pregnancy aches that nobody warned you about

WEEKS 34 ONWARD

Getting ready for labour

Weekly pre-birth treatments from 34 weeks, plus support where baby is breech or posterior, or you're going past your date.

AFTER BIRTH

The part everyone forgets to ask about

Recovery, depletion, feeding, mood and sleep. Postpartum care matters, and it's not an afterthought here.

HOW CHINESE MEDICINE MAY HELP

Gentle by design, and adjusted every visit

Pregnancy changes week to week, so your treatment does too. Point selection is conservative and pregnancy-appropriate throughout, and herbs are only used where they're suitable.

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine are used to support:

  • Nausea, appetite and digestive comfort
  • Pelvic, hip and lower back comfort as you grow
  • Energy, sleep and a calmer nervous system
  • Circulation to the uterus and placenta, fluid balance and swelling
  • The body's readiness in the weeks before labour, from 34 weeks
  • Recovery, mood and depletion after birth

We work alongside your midwife, GP and obstetrician, never instead of them. If something needs their attention, we'll say so.
